Experience the intimate beauty of this series of small gardens surrounding a historical manor house. Small is Beautiful. As Bodwannick's one-and-a-half acres proves perfectly. Discover a world of horticulture squeezed into a bite-sized portion. And as you explore from the walled flowerbeds and shade garden through the radiant species sprouting from each enclosed area, you will find that small in acreage by no means equates to being small in plant and shrub varieties. In fact you will be overwhelmed at the plethora of colour at your fingertips. An amazing horticultural hotspot that can't fail to stun even the green-fingered aficionados with its massive array of shrubs, plants and trees that have been planted so perfectly in such an intimate plot. Saunter from a kitchen garden that is so efficient that it produces a year-round supply of fruit and vegetables, to a rose garden so prolific that it will sweep you off your feet - which is why there is a stone seat from which to enjoy its breathtaking beauty. And this beauty and diversity is endless, from the ponds of the rock garden to the antipodean corner of eucalyptus. During the early summer months, amble under the archway adorned with roses and wisteria to find the weeping beech and bed of cannas, and creep through a hedge-tunnel to discover a striking stone circle made up of 11 huge boulders. In spring follow the radiant rows of rhododendrons past immaculate lawns and back to the front of the house, where there also stands the striking monument of a Cornish stone cross dating back to around 350AD. Not the largest garden for your four-legged friends to run wild, but it's a dog friendly garden if you fancy letting them accompany you on a lead.
